Fragrance oils (perfumes) are not essential oils.

Essential oils are very potent.  They are volatile enough to burn through a plastic container, yet safe enough that when applied correctly to the skin essential oils are absorbed into the bloodstream & can cross the blood-brain barrier!

Aromatherapy is particularly effective for stress, anxiety, and psychosomatic induced problems, muscular and rheumatic pains, digestive disorders and women's problems, such as PMS, menopausal complaints and postnatal depression.

A closer look at the olfactory system and its connection to the brain lends significantly to our understanding of the affect of aromatic essential oils on the physical and emotional aspects of a person. Researchers have shown how aromas cause the brain to react activating the hypothalamus gland, the pituitary gland, the body's hormones and the limbic system. The limbic system links the left and right brain and the voluntary and involuntary nervous system centers.

Carefully selected essential oils are ideal for addressing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Both physical and emotional aspects of trauma can respond powerfully to appropriate essential oil use.
