I was introduced to massage therapy when someone important to me was injured. We had tried all the pain pills, the muscle relaxers, the anti-swellings and nothing worked! Someone recommended massage. I felt it was our last resort for some relief so we gave it a try. The first session was interesting; they mostly evaluated the situation told us approximately how many sessions we would need and how the symptoms would be alleviated allowing the medications to do their job. I was impressed with the fact that this woman had a lot of knowledge of the human anatomy. She was very thorough in her description of the sessions, and answered any question we had regarding massage. Being a retired Paramedic who was used to the modern medicine, I became very appreciative of her sessions which were extremely effective for us as well as affordable since there wasn't any insurance involved.
My interest in alternative treatments and their effects on our body was peaked, so I went back to school. I am now a part of this wonderful growing complimentary care that allows our bodies to feel the full effects of both the original medicines of the world as well as the modern medicines we have created. My goal is to provide these services to all those who truly need it. Massage therapy isn't a priviledge its a part of our everyday wellness and it is a true necessity.
Next time you hurt yourself be aware of how you held the area to ease the pain and how that brought comfort to you, that is massage.
I hope your level of interest is heightened and obviously if I can't help you do to our distance you give someone a chance to teach you the advantages of Massage and Aromatherapy.
